Growing Together: Community Support at LiveWell Camas

As we approach the end of 2024, I find myself reflecting on the journey we’ve been on together. This time last year, I was in the middle of chemotherapy, teaching very little, and focusing on taking care of myself. I am happy to share that I am feeling so much better these days—my hair has grown back, I’m feeling stronger every day, and I’m deeply grateful for all of it and the many ways our community has shown up.

It’s been just about three months since LiveWell Camas officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and I’m filled with gratitude for how our community has supported this transition.

Your Impact So Far:

  • $1,300+ Raised: Through your generous contributions, we’ve gathered over $1,300 to fund community programs.

  • Scholarship Fund Growth: Thanks to Chas, Sandi, and Nikki completing over 30 classes each during our Fall Fit Challenge, we’ve added three 5-class packs to our scholarship fund.

  • New Faces & Growing Reach: We’ve welcomed new members, expanding our supportive and inclusive community.

By the Numbers:

  • 364 Classes Offered: This quarter alone, we’ve offered 364 classes.

  • 3 Monthly Sound Baths: A restorative experience for many.

  • 36 Monthly Members: Our membership has steadily grown.

  • 28 New Student Specials: Welcoming new faces into our space.

  • Nearly 1,000 Visits: Through classes, events, and gatherings from September 23 to today.

Our Vision for 2025:

We dream of becoming a hub for community gatherings, movement, art, and more. In 2025, we aspire to:

  • Offer 4 weeks of free-for-all summer camp programming

  • Grow our scholarship fund to increase accessibility

  • Expand our PRIDE Block Party into an even bigger celebration

  • Partner with other local nonprofits, wellness practitioners, and small businesses to create programming that serves every income level, every body, every age — everyone.

What’s Coming Up:

🎄 Winter Solstice Party - 12/21 | 12 PM - 4 PM
Join us for an afternoon of joy and connection at the studio. Expect snacks, dancing, crafts, a short meditation, intention-setting, and community gathering. Everyone is welcome! We’ll also be raffling off some special items to support our ongoing programs.

🧹 Studio Deep Clean - 12/28 | 10 AM - 2 PM (ish)
We’re looking for volunteers to help deep clean the studio, make repairs, and paint a few spots to ensure everything is fresh and ready for the start of our winter schedule on 12/30. If you’re able to lend a hand, please email me directly to sign up. We’ll work from around 10 AM to 2 PM, though it likely won’t take that long.

🧘 New Year’s Day Fundraiser - 1/1/2025 | 10 AM
Ease into the New Year with me at Soft Start — a class featuring gentle movement, restorative postures, journaling, intention-setting, tea, and community. Available both in-person and online, this special session supports our nonprofit mission.

🎶 First Friday Unplugged - 1/5 | 5 PM - 8 PM
Our beloved First Friday Unplugged returns with a unique Somatic Salon experience. Inspired by the salons that were a social base for French writers from the early 17th century to the early 19th century, expect an interactive evening of music, poetry, movement, and art organized by community member Matt, a self-proclaimed poet-vagabond. This is a free event, though we’ll be collecting donations for supplies, live musicians, and our scholarship fund.

Holiday Schedule Reminder:

Please note that there are no regular classes from December 23-27, but a few donation-based pop-ups will be offered — stay tuned for announcements!

Your support fuels our mission of fostering connection, accessibility, and community wellness. Thank you for being part of our story.

With deep gratitude and warm wishes,
Jacquie Michelle
